Job Creation Increases by 8.5% with 594,104 Workers Absorbed

Amid global economic uncertainties, Indonesia has once again recorded positive investment growth. Investment realization throughout the first quarter of 2025 reached IDR465.2 trillion, up 2.7% compared to Q4 2024 and significantly increased by 15.9% compared to the same period last year. This achievement has fulfilled 24.4% of the 2025 investment realization target of IDR1,905.6 trillion.

This investment performance has also had a positive impact on job creation, with direct labor absorption reaching 594,104 people, an 8.5% increase compared to Q1 2024. This was announced by the Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani during the Q1 2025 Investment Realization Press Conference on Tuesday (29/04).

National Economic Resilience Amid Global Dynamics

According to Rosan, this achievement reflects national economic resilience and the implementation of government strategies in maintaining investment attractiveness and climate amid global dynamics.

"If we look at the trend, it's very good, because in 2025, the investment increase compared to 2024 is 15.9%, which is quite high. We see this from the incoming appetite and ongoing investment realization, and God willing, we can achieve that figure," said Rosan.

Rosan added that global trade tensions, such as the increase in US import tariffs, have not directly impacted investment flows to Indonesia. Investment realization figures reflect capital expenditure for physical projects such as factory construction, infrastructure, and production facilities involving long-term business calculations and risks.

"This achievement is a very good and positive indicator amid increasing geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions. Alhamdulillah, we see investment interest, both from domestic and foreign sources, continuing to increase in Indonesia," explained Rosan.

Manufacturing Industry Sector Dominates Investment Realization

The manufacturing industry sector dominates investment realization by business sector, with a value of IDR67.3 trillion, followed by:

  • Transportation and telecommunications (IDR66.5 trillion)
  • Mining (IDR48.6 trillion)

More Balanced Investment Distribution

The investment distribution between Java and outside Java has also become more balanced:

  • Outside Java: IDR235.9 trillion (50.7% of total investment)
  • Java: IDR229.3 trillion (49.3% of total investment)

Investment growth outside Java of 17.4% emphasizes the direction of national development equity. Central Sulawesi Province has become one of the growth engines outside Java with a realization of IDR32.7 trillion, placing it in the national top five alongside DKI Jakarta (IDR69.8 trillion) and West Java (IDR68.5 trillion).

Balanced Growth in Foreign and Domestic Investment

Amid external pressures, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) continues to contribute significantly with IDR230.4 trillion, or 49.5% of total investment realization. Meanwhile, Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) amounts to IDR234.8 trillion or 50.5%.

The five sectors contributing the largest FDI figures are:

  1. Basic metal industries, metal goods, non-machinery and other equipment (US$3.6 billion)
  2. Mining (US$1.2 billion)
  3. Transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications (US$1.1 billion)
  4. Other services (US$1.1 billion)
  5. Chemical and pharmaceutical industries (US$0.9 billion)

Singapore remains the largest source of investment (US$4.6 billion), followed by Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, and Japan.

Downstream Program Drives Investment

The natural resource downstream program continues to be a main pillar in driving investment. In Q1 2025, investment realization in the downstream sector reached IDR136.3 trillion or 29.3% of total national investment.

The largest contributions came from:

  • Mineral sector (IDR97.60 trillion)
  • Plantation and forestry sector (IDR31.12 trillion)
  • Oil and gas (IDR6.55 trillion)
  • Fisheries and marine (IDR1.03 trillion)

5.3% Economic Growth Target

Entering 2025, the government is targeting investment realization of IDR1,905.6 trillion, up 11.14% from last year's achievement of IDR1,714.2 trillion, to support the national economic growth target of 5.3%.

"With a strong foundation and ongoing structural reforms, Indonesia is optimistic about maintaining investment growth momentum while strengthening the national economic foundation amid global challenges," concluded Rosan.

SINTANG - The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) of Sintang Regency has once again conducted capacity building and innovation refreshment for KAIN IKAT (Information Service Cadres and Licensing Assistance in Districts) as well as business licensing services for Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) actors. This time, the activity was carried out in Sungai Tebelian District on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Strengthening KAIN IKAT Services in Sungai Tebelian District

KAIN IKAT is a flagship program of DPMPTSP Sintang Regency that aims to bring licensing services closer to the community, especially in district areas far from the city center. Through this program, trained cadres at the district level help business actors obtain information and assist in the licensing process.

"The KAIN IKAT program is very strategic in our efforts to bring licensing services closer to the community. With cadres in the districts, business actors don't need to travel far to the city to manage licensing," said the PTSP Coordinator of DPMPTSP Sintang Regency in his remarks.

This capacity building activity includes updates on the latest licensing regulations, introduction to online licensing application systems, and training on assistance techniques for MSE actors. KAIN IKAT cadres in Sungai Tebelian District are expected to further improve the quality of services provided to the community after participating in this briefing.

Direct Licensing Services for MSE Actors

In addition to capacity building for KAIN IKAT cadres, DPMPTSP Sintang Regency also provided direct business licensing services to MSE actors in Sungai Tebelian District. Dozens of business actors attended to take advantage of this opportunity to complete their business licensing documents.

"We see that there are still many MSE actors who do not have complete business licenses. In fact, these licenses are very important for the future development of their businesses, including access to financing and other government programs," explained the DPMPTSP Service Team Coordinator.

During the activity, the DPMPTSP team helped MSE actors manage various types of licenses, such as Business Identification Numbers (NIB), Micro and Small Business Licenses (IUMK), and Standard Certificates. This service is provided free of charge in accordance with the government's commitment to supporting local economic growth through strengthening the MSE sector.

Community and MSE Actor Enthusiasm

The presence of the DPMPTSP team in Sungai Tebelian District received an enthusiastic welcome from the local community. Hundreds of residents and business actors filled the Sungai Tebelian District Hall to get information and licensing services.

"I am very grateful for the presence of the DPMPTSP team in our district. I have always delayed taking care of business licenses due to distance and time constraints. With this mobile service, I can finally manage the license for the coffee shop I run," said Mr. Ahmad, one of the MSE actors in Sungai Tebelian District.

The Head of Sungai Tebelian District also expressed appreciation for the initiative of DPMPTSP Sintang Regency in bringing licensing services closer to the community. According to him, this activity is very beneficial in encouraging business formality in his area, which is predominantly still operating in the informal sector.

Economic Potential of Sungai Tebelian District

Sungai Tebelian District is known to have considerable economic potential, especially in the agriculture, plantation, and home industry sectors. Many MSE actors are engaged in agricultural product processing, crafts, and local culinary specialties.

"Sungai Tebelian District has many featured products with potential for development, such as tempeh chips, bamboo weaving, and freshwater fish products. With business legality, these products can develop further and penetrate wider markets," explained the Head of Economic Section of Sungai Tebelian District.

DPMPTSP Sintang Regency hopes that with this KAIN IKAT capacity building and direct licensing service, they can encourage local economic growth through strengthening the MSE sector in Sungai Tebelian District.

SINTANG - The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) of Sintang Regency conducted capacity building and innovation refreshment for KAIN IKAT as well as business licensing services for Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) actors in Lundang Baru Village, Dedai District on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

The event, attended by dozens of micro and small business actors, represents DPMPTSP Sintang Regency's effort to reach communities in rural areas to facilitate the business licensing process.

KAIN IKAT Capacity Building for Excellent Service

KAIN IKAT, which stands for Information Service Cadres and Licensing Assistance in Districts, is an innovative program developed by DPMPTSP Sintang Regency. This program aims to bring licensing services closer to the community, especially in areas far from the city center.

The Head of DPMPTSP Sintang Regency explained, "KAIN IKAT serves as our extension in providing excellent service to the community. With trained cadres in each district, the business licensing process can be more easily accessed by business actors, including those in remote villages."

During the activity, KAIN IKAT cadres received refresher materials on the latest licensing procedures, service application systems, and effective assistance techniques for business actors. This capacity building is expected to improve the quality of services provided by the cadres.

Business Licensing Assistance for MSEs

In addition to conducting KAIN IKAT capacity building, DPMPTSP Sintang Regency also provided direct business licensing services to Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) actors in Lundang Baru Village. This activity is an implementation of the local government's commitment to supporting local economic growth.

"We understand that many MSE actors still face obstacles in managing business licenses, either due to long distances or limited information. Through this proactive approach, we hope to help more business actors obtain official licenses so their businesses can grow," said the Licensing Service Coordinator of DPMPTSP Sintang Regency.

During the service session, the DPMPTSP team helped dozens of MSE actors process various types of licenses, from Business Identification Numbers (NIB) to Standard Certificates. Business actors also received education about the benefits of having official business licenses, including ease of access to financing and business development opportunities.

Positive Response from the Community

The presence of the DPMPTSP Sintang Regency team in Lundang Baru Village received a positive response from the local community. One MSE actor who successfully obtained a business license, Mrs. Herlina, expressed appreciation for the ease of service provided.

"I've been afraid to apply for a business license because I thought the process was complicated and expensive. It turns out that with help from the DPMPTSP team and KAIN IKAT, everything can be completed quickly and at no cost. This is very helpful for small businesses like ours," said Mrs. Herlina, a cassava chip producer.

The Lundang Baru Village Head also expressed gratitude for the activities carried out by DPMPTSP Sintang Regency. According to him, such activities are very beneficial for educating villagers about the importance of business legality.

Program Development Plans

Seeing the high enthusiasm from the community, DPMPTSP Sintang Regency plans to continue developing the KAIN IKAT program and mobile services to other villages throughout Sintang Regency.

"We aim to reach all districts in Sintang Regency this year. Thus, access to business licensing services can be more evenly distributed and support regional economic growth," explained the Head of DPMPTSP Sintang Regency.

The KAIN IKAT program itself has been recognized as one of the best public service innovations at the provincial level and has become a model for other regions in West Kalimantan.
